A Dump cake looks like 'Cobber', made by fruits or savory filling dumping into a pan and then pouring cake mix on top. A simple cake that can be prepared in a single bowl. This cake is a part of the United Kingdom and the United States cuisine.

It is usually made of single fruit varieties like; apple, blueberry, peach. The name of the recipe taken from its method; dumping ingredients in a pan. Dump Cake's name doesn't sound good but its taste is so yummy.

 It's a great recipe for beginners and young ones because you don't have to measure ingredients and you could never be bored to its taste as you can make several varieties by changing fruit every time. you can do experiments with its recipe by coating sugar to fresh fruits and the use of a variety of cake mixes available in the market.

  1. 4 cups chopped apples
  2. 1 Box Yellow or White Cake Mix
  3. 1/2 Stick Butter
  4. Whipped Cream


  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F, spray 13x9 inch pan with cooking spray.
  2. Spread apples evenly in the bottom of the pan top with dry cake mix; gently shake the pan to distribute evenly. Pour melted butter over top, tilting pan to cover as much of the top with butter as possible
  3. Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Whip some cream and put a dollop on top.
  4. your dump cake is ready. Enjoy!!!!

Variations of Dump cake recipe

Cherry Dump Cake:   

For this dump cake recipe use a can of pineapple and a can of cherries. You could make a simple cheery dump cake and use 2 cans of cherries if you prefer.

Peach Dump Cake:

To make peach dump cake, just use 2 cans of sliced peaches in heavy syrup (untrained). You could also use 1 can sliced peaches and 1 can pineapple if you prefer. Pineapple and peach taste great to gather if you want to add extra flavor, add in some brown sugar or cinnamon.

Blueberry dump cake:

Use 2 cans blueberry pie filling or 4 cups fresh blueberries. If using fresh blueberries add ½ cup sugar. For additional flavor, you can mix in shredded coconut, vanilla or cinnamon. This cake tastes great if you topped with sliced nuts, such as pecans or almonds.
