The red velvet cake recipe is easy to make at home. you can make it at half price you brought at home from a bakery. It is much more than vanilla cake tinted red, the most amazing red velvet cake recipe is fluffy, moist and having perfect balance between acidity and chocolate.  Red Velvet Cake



2 ½ cups cake flour (highly recommended cake flour; is much lighter than all-purpose four. It gives velvet’s texture.)
½ cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
¼ cups cooking oil
1 ½ cups granulated sugar (you can use caster sugar if you prefer).
4 eggs
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder + 1 tablespoon for dusting
1cup buttermilk
Slice of red velvet cake
1tablespoon white vinegar
2teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda (bi-carb soda)
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons red food color (liquid or gel whichever you prefer)

For Cream Cheese Frosting:


400g (14 ounces) cream cheese at room temperature
½ cup unsalted butter at room temperature                                                  
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
4 cups icing sugar


Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F or 175 degrees C. Lightly grease two 8-inch cake tins with butter or oil spray and dust it with cocoa powder. Beat butter and sugar together until light in color.

Separate the eggs yolk with white part; beat egg whites into floppy peaks we will fold them in last. Beat egg yolk with wet ingredients; creamed butter and sugar mixture, oil, vinegar combine well.

Sift cake flour, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl add dry ingredients and buttermilk to wet ingredients, mix well until becomes a smooth batter, lastly fold in beaten floppy egg whites.

 Now divide batter among 2 prepared tins and bake for 30 minutes in preheated oven, check with a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Cool completely on wire rack.

For Frosting:

Beat cream cheese, butter and vanilla for 3-4 minutes now add icing sugar beat in until it becomes light and floppy in texture or more till reaching desired consistency.

Assemble cake:

Transfer cake onto cake platter flat side down, trim top dome off the cake to make it flat and take 1 ½ cup frosting on top of the cake spread evenly. Place a second cake layer on top and use remaining frosting to cover the top and sides of the cake. Crumble trimmed pieces of cake to decorate.
