Pancakes


  To make Pancakes

 Making pancakes is simple and easy. Pancake is a flat, thin and round shape cakes. The ancient Greeks made pancakes called ‘Teganites’ that are derived from the frying pan. To make pancakes you need some simple ingredients that probably already have on hand in your kitchen like wheat flour, butter, milk, and sugar using egg is important to add structure to pancakes but you can make them without egg also, substitute milk to buttermilk.

 Maple syrup is a classic topping option for pancakes but the use of honey and sesame is healthy, don’t forget garnish with seasonal fruits.

Ingredients:

4 tbsp (56g) unsalted butter, at room temperature (coconut oil can be used if you prefer).
1 ½cups (360ml) milk (coconut milk also can be used)
2 eggs (use of egg add structure and make them light and floppy).
4 tbsp (52g) granulated sugar (you can use brown sugar it make them little moister).
2cups (260g) all-purpose flour
4tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
2tsp vanilla extract (almonds extract would be pretty delicious can be used instead).
½ tsp cinnamon

Instructions:

Combine all dry ingredients; flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a large bowl, Another side whisk butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla together.

Prepare batter: mix wet ingredients to dry ingredients fold them together gently until incorporate well but avoid over mixing its common mistake people used to do. The batter should be thick but in pouring consistency this could end up less fluffy, set the batter aside for 10 to 15 minutes.

Heat a  flat griddle or non-stick pan over medium to low heat and melt butter to grease, stir the batter again to make sure that remaining lumps soften as moisture soaks in, pour 3 tablespoons of batter onto the pan and let it spread out into a round shape.

Allow cook until bubbles appear on the surface and the edges are set then flip, cook until golden. Do the same with the remaining batter.

Serve pancakes with honey and sesame or maple syrups for toppings. Sprinkle some fresh fruits to make them tastier.

For nice looking pancake use of flat griddle is preferable and don’t make too large pancake it would be difficult to flip them. Do not over mixing batter or left batter lumpy.

You can freeze pancakes; before freezing layer parchment paper and put them into an airtight container and could be reheated one after another in the microwave for 20 minutes.
