Sugar Cookies

These easy sugar cookies are the best idea for decoration because you can cut out them in desired shapes and can be garnished with different icing; vanilla buttercream, French buttercream, or dip the sugar cookies in the chocolate. The success of the sugar cookies recipe is the accurate measurement of the ingredients, use the good quality vanilla extract for the flavor despite the flavor of the butter.

Prep Time: 15minutes

Cook Time: 12minutes

Total Time: 27minutes

Cuisine: American

 Ingredients:

4 cups flour, sifted

1/3 cup cornflour

2 eggs

1 cup unsalted butter

1 cup of sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 tsp salt

Directions:

Sift the flour dry ingredients; flour, cornflour, salt and put aside. Using a stand mixer cream the butter and sugar together, when the mixture of sugar and butter get light in color add eggs and vanilla extract whisk for 1min, scrape down the sides.

Pour the flour mixture mix to incorporate well. Put the dough in a plastic bag and roll out thin with a rolling pin and refrigerate to chill for an hour. Now place the dough on a floured rolling mat and roll out to make it even 1/4-inch thick and cut out the dough in the desired shape but I would cut-out cookies using the circular cookie cutter.

Re-roll the scraps to make cookies. Place them 1" apart on a greased baking tray and bake at 375 degrees F for 10-12 minutes or until the cookies start turning brown. Let them cool for 5minutes before transferring on wire rack. serve them without or with icing. Store them in an airtight container for a week.

Note: In these cookies, I have avoided leavening agent; baking soda/ baking powder to avoid spreading but the texture of the cookies will be dense it would not be puffed up.

Add cornflour will make the consistency prevent the cookie dough from sticking in the plastic bag and the shape of the cookies will not spread.
