In a bowl sift the all-purpose flour, using an electric mixer or hand blender cream the butter and sugar together until smooth and creamy, add in chilled water and vanilla, stir in flour, cinnamon powder, chopped pecans, and salt beat to combine well.

Chilled Rolled Dough

Form the dough into a roll; this method would be easier to make the Sandies because the dough we have made will be crumbly would take time to form the bolls, wrap the dough in the plastic wrap or zip-lock bag and chill the at least 30 minutes or for the best results let the dough chill for about 4 hours.

Now take out the dough from the refrigerator and cut the rolled dough into the 1/2 inch thick slices to make the equal-size Sandies, Pecan Sandies works best when chilled, place them 2 inches apart on the ungreased baking tray,

Bake for about 18-20 minutes or until turn golden in color, allow them cool on the wire rack and sprinkle the powdered sugar while still warm. Store them in an airtight container, cookies will last for 3-5 days.

Chilling the dough is important for at least 30 minutes, I would recommend chilling the dough for about
4 hours, do all the preparation a day ahead.
